OK, my situation is a bit complicated. Basically, I was first PCed like 6 months ago from a Capital One Platinum MC to a Quicksilverone (still a Platinum MC). Just last week, I got another PC to a Quicksilver World MC. I know the rewards are the same, but as I understand it, I could potentially get a much higher CL with the regular Quicksilver. The World MC also covers car rental insurance (collision/theft) in Israel, which not many other cards to (which is a big reason why I wanted the PC, since we're going there in the near future). Now, when I log into capital one, next to the picture of the card (the picture is a regular quicksilver), it still says platinum mastercard because that was the type of my card when I first got it. It turns out that Israeli car rental agencies only accept credit cards with raised lettering because debit cards issued in Israel all don't have the raised lettering. The quicksilver doesn't have raised lettering, but I can get an image card which DOES have the raised lettering. Great. But...since my card was originally a platinum mc (and still says so when I log in), I'm afraid that the card won't have 'world' printed on it by the MC logo and the car rental agency will give me trouble. Does anyone know for sure either way what the card would look like given my situation? The Capital One chat people really didn't understand my situation, so that wasn't much help.
It should keep whatever "status" you have with default design. I'm not 100% sure though. But I would think it would still be World.
I don't know about Cap1 and World or Signature.. I think lenders can kinda bend benefits of World or Siggy cards, especially Cap1. I think people with Visa Siggy or some with Cap1 don't for example has Flexible Spending Accounts for an example even though it technically should be or is with other lenders. I dunno, curious on laerning more about this as well
You could always scan whatever logos you want and edit them into your image file. As long as they don't conflict with the CapOne-provided logo(s), you'd be sure to have what you need.
Chris.

Don't know about all Cap-1 cards, but my Venture and GM buypower cards both report as "Flexible Spending Credit Card" along with the CL.

I'm not sure why that would be an issue. AFAIK, the image cards will revert to the red and yellow logo, but I'm not sure if those include the "World" lettering above it. However, that doesn't change the "World" status of the CC itself.

I know that the card is still world status independent of what the cc itself says, but I'm just imagining a nightmare scenario where the person at the counter says "This card doesn't say world on it, what do you mean you have a world mastercard? No proof, you need to buy the collision/theft insurance." At this point, I would log into capital one and show that it says world mastercard...but guess what?!? It says platinum...I have no proof that it's a world MC, and I get gouged big time for the car rental insurance (the whole reason I upgraded to the world MC in the first place). This is why it is an issue whether or not it's on the card.

No, this doesn't work for two reasons:
1) There is a spot already reserved for the card logo (where I hope to God that world is printed there)
2) Capital One expressly forbids logos of any kind in the foreground of any picture you try to use. Look at their TOC...

I REALLY hope so. I ordered an image card with a plain black background earlier today, and we'll see what it looks like. If it doesn't say world on it, I'll complain and see what they can do.

They've rejected several designs of mine. The above post pretty much describes it.
