I've been stuck with my Cap1 Plat with a $300 CL since 2016 and I've been declined several times for a CLI (going to be working on PIF every month and use it very heavily and try again in like 6 months)
I stumbled upon this post:
Re: Capital One Wait for Increase? or Upgrade?
"Just FYI. You can also just add "/productupgrade" to the address bar while logged into your account and have the card chosen. Can't do this from the main "welcome" screen, but has to be done after selecting a card and the address bar has an address that ends with a "=". "
Tried doing that exact process and here was the result!
Now just gotta use this thing until I can get approved for a CLI and utilize it more!

If you don't mind me asking, was this a secured card to begin with?

Not at all! To answer your question, it was not. I was pretty much offered this card after running into really bad credit with some of my older cards (had my amex everyday blue cash c/o and wf plat) so I think it was just meant as a "recovery" card.

Congrats on the upgrade to a rewards card, OP. I did the same PC several years back after scooping up the Platinum as my first rebuilder card.
Do keep in mind that the PC does not increase your chances for a CLI at all. You suggested in your original post that the $300 CL was sort of bothering you and perhaps were under the impression that a PC to QS may increase your CLI chances. Just understand that this starter account that you have will still remain bucketed even though it has a new paint job.

Oh yeah I'm sure that wasn't going to factor into getting a CLI, ya I definitely am bothered with having a $300 CL because I honestly spend way more than $300 a month and having to constantly schedule multiple payments to pay in full by the closing date is somewhat annoying, but just gotta keep doing it!
I appreciate the feedback!

Imho you need to get away from the Capital One ecosystem. People get these $300 cards and then fathom why they dont grow. Even on regular Cap One cards, heavy spend is just not netting big cli and i think yours, and others, energy can be better suited with other lenders. Cap One seems to want all your attention yet reward most with $100 increases. Lolwut! I read this forum everyday and cant recall a big Cap One increase from almost anyone so i dont think im wrong here. One can get a cb card simply by joining a CU and if approved probably more growth potential. Grats on your pc just wanted to add a very average persons 2 cents
Congrats!
I just upgraded Plat to QS last month. Didn't know about the address bar trick. I called and talked to someone to get it done.
Im kinda confused but I think I'll try it rn.
