Should remain a MC. It's my understanding that a MC can never be converted to a visa or vice versa. And I would think you could PC again to venture, but it might be more difficult and may not be available right away.

If you really want that Venture, I'd app for it because the SL's are bigger and the sign up bonus is really good. You could then try and consolidate limits down the road to whichever card is more beneficial for your spend.
+1
There are two or three folks around here with Venture/Venture One MasterCards they got through a series of PCs, but honestly unless you just want a card that almost nobody has you would be much better off just to app for the Venture directly.
Most of the the reasons have already been covered above, but I'll add that I also have a QS1 MasterCard that started as something else with HSBC/Orchard, and even if you were to strip the AF away it is still a different level account with different offers/benefits from the 'top tier' cards (Venture and Quicksilver Visa Signature). I routinely have offers for balance transfers to my Quicksilver Visa with APR promotions, but the QS1 MasterCard never has those offers. All new Venture accounts are issued as 'Signature', so you wouldn't have to be concerned with the designation once you're approved.
Also, keep in mind that any card that isn't 'Signature', 'World', 'World Elite', etc. is automatically classified as 'Platinum' - at least with Capital One. It has thrown many folks off when they realize that their lower-limit Quicksilver card (or Quicksilver One) is 'Platinum' as well as 'Quicksilver'. ![]()

I agree. While you may be able to PC it into a Venture, I think apping for a new card is probably the better option in this case.

Recently I was approved for a CLI from $2500 to $4500 on my QS card. Now this card was originally just a Platinum card that was product changed to a Quicksilver. What I want to know is this ... Since the limit has been increased nicely, could I product change this again to a Venture card and would it remain a MasterCard or could it be changed to a Visa as well?
It would remain MC. Usually, you can only PC once every 6 months when you go through CSR. Try hopping on chat and see if they have an offer to "upgrade" you to Venture.
