So I'm guessing there's a limit to how frequently you can product change?

Without someone giving firsthand experience on this best guess is product changes are probably treated as new apps as far as how often you can request one which if that's the case is every six months.

Not this last PC, but the one before getting the Savor, the rep read me some disclosures on the phone, and she said I wouldn't be elegible for any promotions or upgrades for 6 months after processing the request.

There you go. Thanks for the info there.

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

I’ve read several posts on another thread where a PC to Savor caused a CLD, sometimes pretty severe. That’s why I’m reluctant to try it.

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

I remember reading those exact same threads. That's so weird that CO would do that though; it's like they are punishing some people for PCing to a different product. It's like, if you don't like it then why approve the PC then... Smiley Frustrated

I have been reluctant to get a CO card because of this and their recent AA that dominated the threads during the beginning of 2018.

Interesting. Can someone post a link to those "PC to Savor caused a CLD" threads? I searched but can not find them. I did do PC to SAVOR as soon as it was posted here that it was possible but no CLD for me (knock on wood).

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

My Capital One Quicksilver card was collecting dust as well, and when I first saw advertisements for Savor maybe 6 months back or so, I called to ask for a product change but was told they weren't offering upgrades to this card yet. They told me they would note my account and contact me when I was eligible (did not happen obviously). Well after seeing this post I called today and am happy to report a sucessful Quicksilver to Savor conversion. It was quick and easy and my online account updated immediately!

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

I've had the Savor for over 3 months now and no CLD.  However, I also haven't had a CLI yet Smiley Sad Planning on putting heavy spend during the summer though, so hopefully that will change.

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

I haven't noticed any mention of a CLD except for the message a few posts above. Can anyone find the post or posts where someone actually reported it happening?

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

I don’t know how to post links here. But if you Google PC to Savor Cap1 CLD it will bring up a thread. I believe the postings about the PC to Savor CLD are buried in there. There seem to be a flurry of postings about recent adverse actions taken by Cap1.

Re: Capital One Product Change - Venture One to Savor

Looking at this post, I believe the CLD was one of Capital One's patented decreases to 10k. It was likely due to low usage rather than because the card was PC'ed or because it was a Savor.
