Capital One Refer a Friend

I wanted to share this because I had not seen a refer-a-friend program for Capital One credit cards before and was under the impression that they did not exist, so maybe this will be news to you as well. I'm thinking that their referral program is targeted to certain cardholders. I just received my referral link in an e-mail today, and it is specifically for the Quicksilver (I got the QuicksilverOne in 7/17, which was upgraded to the standard Quicksilver in 5/18).

Here's the info:

- If your friend is approved for a Quicksilver through your referral link, you will receive a $100 bonus

- Earn up to $500 in bonuses per year for referrals

- The referred member must not currently be a Capital One credit cardholder

- The referred member will still receive with the standard 1.5% cashback, $150 bonus after $500 spend within 3 months, 0% intro APR for purchases and transfers for 15 months, and $0 annual fee

I just wish they did the same for the Savor/SavorOne, since it's hard for me to recommend the Quicksilver as I rarely use the card myself these days. But if you're a Quicksilver cardholder and have a friend to refer, keep an eye out in your inbox to try to get yourself a bonus!

Thanks all, have a nice evening!

Fine print, if you're interested:

  • To refer a friend, you have to be an eligible Quicksilver card accountholder. Accountholders with a Capital One QuicksilverOne card, or any other Capital One credit card, are not eligible.
  • Your Capital One accounts must be open and in good standing. If any one of your accounts is closed, or otherwise in default, you may not be eligible for the referrals program.
  • To be able to get a bonus, you have to make sure you haven't maxed out your bonus cap amounts. If you have already reached the maximum amount, you can still refer your friends, you just won't receive a bonus.
  • The friend you referred must apply and be approved for a Quicksilver card.
  • The friend you referred must use the referral link you sent them and complete the application process through that link for you to receive a bonus.
  • The friend you referred must be a new Capital One card customer and not already have a Capital One credit card account.
  • The referral offers you send to your friend must be valid when they apply. If your link is no longer valid, then you won't get a bonus for their approval.

Re: Capital One Refer a Friend

That's cool thanks for sharing it but when you say you can't be a cap1 card holder as in any card? You have to be a brand new customer is that correct?

Re: Capital One Refer a Friend

The fine print says:
The friend you referred must be a new Capital One card customer and not already have a Capital One credit card account.

So if the friend already has any Capital One credit card then you would not be eligible to receive the bonus. However, it sounds like if the friend only has other services through Capital One, such as a savings account, then the referral bonus would be valid.

Re: Capital One Refer a Friend

I've been getting emails from Capital One about that. Thinking about referring a co-worker to them since she's looking for a decent credit card.

Re: Capital One Refer a Friend

I got a referral thing for my late SavorOne lol. None of my friends or relatives are as interested in credit as I am, so referrals don’t get me anywhere

Re: Capital One Refer a Friend

I have a QuickSilver credit card of Capital One.

I got referral and signup with that. I got 150$ on spending 500$ in first three months.

Also they are giving 1.5% cashback on every purchase.

<mod cut - referral links are not allowed on myFICO - KiB>

On referral you can get 100$ on every referral.

It is a nice credit card offer for firsttime than any other.
