Hello, new the forums. So i have 1 credit card which is a capital one platiumim and i am trying to figure out what is the reporting day for my cap 1 card so it can report a low utilization. my due date is the 9th of every month i paid on the 7th of this month but its still reporting my full balance
Looks like 3 days from due date until the balance reports for me.
So if due date the 9th should report on the 12th.
Any credit score monitoring site will show you each card's report date.
E.G. I log into Credit Karma, go to Credit Card Utilization and scroll down to view my credit cards. Under each card shows the Balance, Utilization and Reported On - Date.
Dates are usually the same (minus and plus one day off) each month. Some cards report automatically when you paid a balance to zero, however, From personal experience Cap1 doesn't.
creditkarma updated yesterday an its still showing my $300 balance even doe i paid in full on the 7th
@Anonymous I have an account with them as well. The due date is the 9th and the statement cuts on the 12th. It reports the same day that the statement cuts.
@Anonymous So it will report my 0 balance on the 12th of this month

Credit Karma updates are independent of what actually updates on your reports.
Capital one will send the information to the CRA on the 12th but don't expect to see it reflect on that date if that makes sense. It will take the CRA a few days to update it.
In my experience, they report what your balance was on the day the statement closed. For example, my Cap One Venture One Card has a statement closing date of the 9th of every month. I always pay it off on the 8th and then don't use it until the 10th. It always reports zero when I do this.

What does the reported date on Credit Karma says? I'm pretty sure it still has the last month's reported date. You mentioned you paid two days early for your due date. That is great but your due date is not the same as your closing date. As others mentioned, it is two-three days after. Your closing date is usually/almost always your report date. If your due date is the 9th closing date is somewhere around the 11th - 13th. So it hasn't report yet. Just because you paid in full early doesn't mean is going to show up early for Cap1. Once again, check the reported on date on Credit Karma.
Hope that helps.
