Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Hello All,
Been looking on the forums a lot and absorbing the useful information provided. Some history about me, I had credit cards in college and was not the most financially sound person at the time and long story short I messed up my credit. 3 years left and my baddies fall off.
Anywho, I've been trying to apply for credit cards and the only one I've gotten was the Cap One Platinum No Hassle Rewards Card (rebuilder one) for about 15 months now and a Macy store card. Been applying for other credit cards but been turned down left and right. I tried applying for another Cap One and just got this in the mail:
Dear Me:
Thank you for your recent request for a credit card issued by Capital One.
Please review the enclosed IMPORTANT DISCLOSURES. This document discusses, among other things, the terms of your new account and how those terms apply.
If you have any questions please call us toll-free at 800-903-9177. Our office hours are Monday through Saturday 8:00 am to 11:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
Thank you for your interest in credit card issued by Capital One and we look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
Capital One.
However the pages after talk about my credit score (Experian 656 dated 10/26/11 on a 325-850 score (FICO?)) and how I can dispute it but no card...
Should I be expecting a card in another letter or should I give them a call?
It looks like you were approved.
Give them a call.
Sure, I did whenever I called. Just tell them you are veryifying the delivery date. Congrats though.
It does sound like you were approved so congratulations. It also sounds like you got your EX FICO score. And it's a fairly good score. You say you've been getting denied for other credit cards. Not sure how many you've applied for, but you may be wracking up a lot of inquiries. How many applications have you submitted?
It may be in your best interest to cool off on the applications for the time being. Wait 6 months and then apply for a card from a credit union that would likely give you a higher limit. With 650+ FICO scores, you should have other options besides Cap One rebuilder cards available to you. I'm sure others can suggest some other easy approval cards that can grow with you as well.

My Experian shows 13 as of 10/26 with 2 additional ones not shown so 15? My Equifax only showed 1 at the time and that was over 1 years old recently just added two more (PenFed + Cap One). I'll wait 6 months and try again. However, my first few apps were saying I had too low AAoA-4 Yr 11 Mo, too much debt to available-I try to keep my utit % down but I did get a car loan in Feb and have been paying it off, and my baddies-collection, chargeoff, collection, all which have since been paid off for over a year and should fall off within 3 years. I've tried to gw but no luck and they were pretty adamant about not gaming the system. One collection was Amex, the chargeoff was WAMU, and the other collection was the chargeoff from WAMU Equable Ascent Financial. Have any tips for removing them early?

Other than GW requests, if these were paid in full, unfortunately no. If you settled for less than the full amount, you could try to offer the remainder in exchange for deletion. But otherwise, all you can do is GW them over and over, or wait it out.
So called them today when I got back from work. I did get approve and card should be here within 10 business days. $2k limit. Not the best but better than my $750 limit card!
I never got that letter! lol
Capital one was trolling you! But the truth broke through haha
Congratulations! $2k isn't half bad for Cap One. They definitely aren't known to give out high limits! Nice job. ![]()
