I was surprised to receive an offer to upgrade from my Platinum card to a choice of the Quicksilver or Venture. After comparing the two and how I will use it, decided on the Quicksilver. My goal is to garden for 3 mos since my app spree a month ago, added a Savor One, and will wait to apply for the Spark business card.
Anyone else get the offer to upgrade and went with the Venture instead?
Current Score: EFX 645, XPN 680, TU 725
venture $95 AF or venture one $0 AF?
what's the CL of your card?
There's a very niche use for the venture and even a more niche use for the venture one, QS is a great choice.

Hi, I realized that I have two profiles (Mysticuno being the older one).
QS I too think was a good option. The offer was venture with $0 AF, same CL 3k, no credit pull. As mentioned, I want to garden for a few months before applying and building on my business credit.
Thanks for the feedback.

You made the fiscally sound decision. Quicksilver with no annual fee will save you money and it's definitely a upgrade from the Platinum card.
I recently was approved for the SavorOne Rewards card and found out the other day that I can upgrade to the Quicksilver from my Platinum card. Probably do it in a few weeks.
Congratulations!
There's no reason to wait if they're offering you the platinum to QS upgrade.

The upgrade has been available to me for a couple months. I'll definitely pull the trigger on it soon.

You're lucky. Upgrade offers from Cap1 One are rare. Most of us just get offers to open new cards, and had to use the /productupgrade link to convert our Platinums.
I agree with @GZG, the Venture and Venture One are niche cards. They're not bad, but unless you're certain they're for you, the Quicksilver is an easier choice. And it tends to be underrated in online circles. Sure, 1.5% is less than the 2% industry standard for flat rate cards. But with all the hacks, not having to give every website my real card number and being able to selectively turn it off at will (virtual cards) is worth more than 0.5% to me. The easy redemption without any minimum thresholds is also nice, compared to all my other cards that can only be redeemed in $25 or even $50 blocks. Plus, it still retains a lot of those WEMC network benefits that have been stripped from many other no-AF cards, meaning I'm inclined to use it for purchases where I want some extra warranty or other protections. It even has a decent set of travel insurance and other protections, and the 0% FTF means I can take it everywhere.
Yes, the APR is terrible (it doesn't change with the upgrade), but I don't plan to ever carry balance so it doesn't matter.

Congrats on the upgrade!! I finally was able to upgrade my QS1 to a Venture card a few months ago after years of trying the /productupgrade link. The cards they gave me to choose from were: QS, Savor1, Venture & Venture1.

Congrats on your Capital One upgrade offer, @La-dae + @Mysticuno. ![]()

FYI, if you message a Moderator or Administrator, they may be able to merge those two profiles under one User Name of your choice. I know recently there seemed to be some "house keeping" going on in the background as the number of members shrank considerably. Some of us wondered if duplicate profiles were being eliminated. Might be better to be proactive if you don't want to lose posting history on either profile.
