Re: Capital One Venture issue, need help

So he looked at both TU and Eqfx (via credit karma) and said Eq says "joint account" and TU says "contractually liable". What does that mean?

So not an auth user then?

He has another C1 card both reports say "individual"

I mentioned what you wrote, he sent me a copy of the letter and its exactly what I wrote, they want the primary to call customer service to verify DOB. Thats it. Sent to her at his address where she used to live. So youre wrong they dont ask for that and how they want it verified.

Said about every 6 mos when he logs into the account online they ask for HIS income verification.

Maybe Cap 1 upgraded or replaced the card when it expired? I have a Cap 1 and they sent me a Quicksilver card when one expired and I didnt ask for one. My C1 business card became Spark many years ago and wasnt originally one.

It sounds as though it's a joint account. Depending on what their policy states is what will dictate what happens with the account. Generally though, when there's a joint credit card account, the majority of lenders won't allow the account to be transferred to one party, even if one of the account holders has passed. The account is most often closed, requiring the other party to reapply for a new account.

Whether they'll transfer it, or not is something only Capitol One is going to be able to answer.  Your friend is just going to have to be honest with them and tell them the truth. Nothing good will come from continuing to avoid it.

thanks, actually re reading the letter, it states the account "could" be closed, not that it will

Also says the account will be"restriced" (no new pruchases) if they dont hear from the primary by Dec 4th. He called and there is no restriction yet at least.
