FYI
I just updated my experian report and noticed that my snychrony walmart is now listed as closed with the new capital one not reporting meaning when capital one reports AAoA is going to suffer?

Has anyone received an offer from Capital One to upgrade their Walmart store card to the mastercard version? Has anyone has any luck with Capital One to upgrade their card? I've had the store-card version for a little over 5-years but never upgraded it since Synchrony would reset the clock on the card with a new open date. I'm hoping Capital One isn't as "cruel" when it comes to upgrading cards with a new open date. I hardly use the card and try to use it at least once a year to avoid it from getting closed, so I doubt I'd be targeted as a profitable customer.
Just got an email showing the reward structure...
After the in-store promo is over, I don't think I'll ever wanna walk inside again! Except to browse, then visit the pick-up area again the next day!

I'm more concerned with keeping the age of the account, as that would trow off AAoA. Losing this TL from my total CL wouldn't amount to anything. I have'nt even gotten a notice of a score change, so either it hasn't been removed from mine yet. Or there was no impact.

I know Cap1 and SYNB are making a transition and I presume that my “SYNCB/WALMART” account will stay on my CR’s as a closed $0 Bal 10 yr positive TL?
My EX score dropped 2pts due to the closing of this account.😡 Nothing in place of it as of yet? So, I called SYNCB and Cap1 to find out what’s the deal???
SYNCB state’s they are closing accounts due to transition and it’s on Cap1 to make the change. So, I called Cap1 and they stated that an update to the CB’s won’t be until 11/15/2019 for the account to be restored under Cap1.😡
Well, I just lost $400 in available credit which, again, dropped my score 2pts. Not a huge deal but, REALLY so soon? Hopefully, I’ll it’ll level out soon and all the past history will still be there?
Annoying to say the least...🙄

At least 10 years. I had a BK7 in 2010 so my oldest account is a Sync electronics store card I opened in 2004 and they closed in 2007 after I paid it off and then no activity after, it should have fallen off in 2017 but some reason Sync still reports it in my closed accounts.
I don't check my weekly credit reports until this weekend but my Walmart store card has a $10k CL so that's going to be a big hit, CK is likely to go nuts when that pushes my utilization from 9 to 11%, but I'd go nuts if I paid any attention to CK's Vs3 wild gyrations.
On another note Cap One finally posted my rewards from my Friday 10/11 store purchase of $138.xx and they only gave me 2% rewards, I used Walmart Pay so it should have been 5%, going to try Chat to get them to fix it.

If both cards report, your AAoA (average age of accounts) will be affected. The effect could be either positive or negative, depending on the age of your card in relation to your current AAoA.
AAoA is the only obvious scoring stat that should be affected. But it's possible that something more obscure could change, such as number/percentage of accounts that are new. Aside from scoring, the duplication may affect other things, such as your 5/24 status.
My Mastercard is also showing up as closed on Experian and Transunion.
A little annoying. I only got the account back in July to get in before the transition, so not a big deal, but I expected the account history to carry over based on previous Capital One acquisitions. Hopefully they'll work some magic and merge that history back in whenever it's reporting under CapOne.

Hi when Capital one does report the Walmart mastercard thay show all the history and report the original date that the account was open. If Synchrony reports the account as closed you could ask Synchrony take it off report. If you are applying for chase card or any other card from any other bank and you have problem because of change over with walmart just call the recon line and explain what happen you won't have problem everry one in the credit industry knows what happen and this should account against you or hurt you when you are applying for new account. I think some of larger credit card operations have software in place to take this into account.
