I called Cap1 requesting a CL increase, the automated systems denied me and I checked and sure enough they didnt even pull my report. When I called in to find out what the situation was, they advised me they are currently not offering CL increases until an undiscolsed time and no report was in fact pulled, thus no denial. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.
They have reported that they are not offering customer initiated CLI since last year.
I wish I'd known how much I hate capital one before I let them open a TL for me. Bad service, bad CL, bad rates! ....And no, I don't want a picture of my children or my dog on my credit card. Thanks though!

I closed a Cap1 toy card on March 30th.
The retentions CSR asked me why and I said, "I'm no longer accepting lenders
that no longer accept customer initiated credit limit increases".
He chuckled and stated that if he told me that Cap1 was to accept Customer CLIs
starting April 1st, would I keep it open? I informed him it would take a CLI to at
least $1000 for me to keep being farmed by them for fees. No go, so close it.
The point is, Cap1 was supposedly going to accept Customer initiated CLIs
starting April 1st. I confirmed this by calling back minutes later and got a different
CSR and asking them to verify the info. They did.
Also, when you close your card, tell them you're not longer accepting lenders
that no longer accept customer initated CLI requests. Tellem a Fast Moving Aquatic Fowl sent you...

I saw your thread over at the other board when you wrote about this. Frankly, given that very few had the same experience as you some were pondering whether or not you were trolling as an April Fool's joke.. You know the thread. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I cancelled my own card Aril 1st. Whether or not Capital One would accept consumer initiated requests, my card is not one of those which will ever be allowed an increase.
March was a great month. I feel like I've just found out I was in the 15% Chase is trying to get rid of by knocking down credit limits, never offering balance transfers deals to again, and never offering card services to if I do apply for credit. I am now two cards lighter (knock on wood).
No, its genuine.
There have been other reports on "the other board" within the past day or 2 stating
Cap1 STILL isnt accepting customer initiated CLI request.
I think they joke was on us, courtesy of Capital One..
Whats in their wallet? Your money.
Captial who?

You can always do what I sometimes do and report the CSR who gave you the bogus info to corporate. Nothing will happen, but it feels a little better (for me) to have a record.
