I'm incredibly inclined to believe that it is. It fits the description: entering the market in the Fall, it's definitely a "game-changer" (seriously, nothing out there is like it. It taps a severely underserved market and will likely win long term loyalty,) and it's something people actively interested in credit and cards would notice. Unfortunately it's not a prime product so it's not the sexy, fun thing we all hoped for. I don't remember anything being said about it being a prime product, just those 3 descriptors. But sometimes the memory gets fuzzy. (Being 30 is hard ;P)

Oh don't say that! I'm pushing 30 real soon myslef! lol Smiley Happy

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

I'm glad they are doing this, wish they had this when I was in the early rebuilding stages.  But I will reccomend this to anyone who is.  Capital One has been great for my rebuilding process, thier main drawback is the 3 HPs.  Now I have two cards and an Auto Loan with them, and they will be top contenders to get a mortgage when I am ready for that.  Though I have not heard good things about their Mortgage department.  Maybe that will improve by then.

Approved! Applied on 12/2 got the approval email today 12/10. It was not instant, was very discouraged, whew I am glad I was approved. If you get the 7-10 day message it is NOT the end with this card.

I needed a card without fees to finish off my rebuild collection. This way I can cancel (when my year with them hits) my horrid First Access Visa from Mid America Bank that I desperately opend last month.

Time to "rebuild garden" until all of these are a year old. 14 Inquiries average due to this rebuild.

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

Wow @coiledvipers - that is INCREDIBLY fast for Cap One to already have a card to someone.

Awesome Smiley Happy

Hope the card works out wonderfully for your mom.

((Hopefully my QS1 will show up soon - I was approved for it before this thread existed by a few days, hahaha))

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

Got an email last night from Cap One saying they shipped my card. Not sure how accurate their ship date is, we will see how quickly it comes as other Cap One cards sometimes take forever.

Well, it's not the same card, but I received the email saying they mailed my QS1 on Wednesday (nearly a week after I was approved but whaddyagonnado) and received it today (Saturday) so I would expect that you see your card at the beginning of next week.

Congrats on your approval!! Smiley Happy

Re: Capital One "Builder Program" Credit Card

Plot twist, haven't received the card yet. They have already shipped it. Received a call today though from the Cap One fraud dept asking for ID, SS card and a utility bill. The account is on hold until I do so. I have already faxed it in, they said it takes a day or two to process.

I thought this was odd, usually they verify identity BEFORE approval not after.
