Mind you, I haven't received a physical card yet either. Any thoughts?
How did you purchase without activating a card? Or how did you get the transactions to go through...manual entry?
Online card number maybe? CapOne does let you view the numbers online. Plug it into a mobile wallet or do an online order and it should work
@Anonymous They may have quit that I believe.

ETA: Wondering how OP used the account without the card for Cap1 to close.
A credit card is not actually available for consumer use until it has been activated.
If you never received the card and activated it, then it properly was not available for use, as it has not yet passed that security check to ensure that you actually received the physical card.
Capital One let's you pull up the card info in their app (I did this when I got approved for my last Cap One card in June). This may have been what OP did and then added it to a digital wallet or other method.
@Anonymous
How did you make two purchases without your Cc? Kind of Odd...Sorry for the Cc closure..
Sorry about the closure but it's strange that you used the cars without activating it.
possibly triggered by fraud alert?
It will be interesting to hear if the OP did in fact add the card to a mobile wallet with getting the number online or manual entry or how they paid, and if the closing of the account had anything to do with them getting spooked that a card was used before it was registered. In some cases virtual card numbers are given with the intent that you can go ahead and use the card before the physical card arrives, I am not sure if CapitalOne has the same intent with the virtual card number.
I suspect you will have to wait 7-10 days to get the letter about why they closed the account. Sorry to hear that happened. What is the rest of your profile? Had you applied for a bunch of other cards at the same time? Sometimes there is additional reviews that can get accounts closed before the cards even arrived.
