Re: Capital One sent me another Account Rvw

In the event they become Discover Bank too, I wonder if letters such as you received will become the norm?

Use it or lose it?

Yup @TrapLine ,

Looking ahead with the upcoming acquisition of DFS, I suspect my (also lesser used) Disco card could be subject to an COF Acct Rvw.

My combined exposure between these two issuers is > $90,000.  This amount is significant as this represents ~ 20% of my TCL.

Ironically my card with the highest credit line is Discover, at $28k.  If Capital One applies the 'review' policy to Discover accounts there's little doubt I'll be CLD'ed at some point, since I very seldom put significant purchases on this card.

On the other hand, if I had a BT offer on my Discover card with terms similar to what Capital One usually offers I might have a use for the higher credit line (I probably still wouldn't need $28k, but it would see more activity than it sees now).  It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the two issuers in the coming years.

Re: Capital One sent me another Account Rvw

Having opted out of the AR, I got this email stating that I am good (for now.)

I had feeling this review would be coming around again.   This account hasnt been used like it has been.

Since July, spending total was about $3,700 vs $6,000 to $9,000 in the same six month period (we've been using the Gold AMEX for dining...)

This is the OG 4% on dining and entertainment Savor with $0 AF with a $36,000 CL.
I called the number to opt out like I did when I got a notice in July 2022.   Back then, I was allowed to keep my CL which was $30,000 at the time.

Re: Capital One sent me another Account Rvw

Boogles my mind how credit providers pick and choose who to pursue, and what to leave alone.

Between P1 and P2, we have a nice line of cards, and never once have we faced a review or credit line reduction.  I'm talking cards 24-36 months plus never used, I'm surprised they didn't close out these lines due to inactivity enough.    Carry a zero balance on everything, yet cycle much, monthly on the card of the month and then paid down.  I'm the ultimate dead beat in their eyes.

I'm wondering what becomes the criteria to start deleveraging, and whom they apply this policy to.  So long as the account holder is making their payments, even with some interest, these instituations earn their money.  They just aren't getting it from me.

I'd love to have the text book to their inner workings.
