Capital One ??

If you go to cap1 site and you try to prequalify and they say there is nothing for you but try some other products are you better off just to not apply and not to waste the inq ???

I would probably be cautious and not waste the inquiry. Is it vital that you have a credit card with them right now?Have you tried BofA's prequalification process?

On both cap 1 ccs I have (1 obtained in 4/08; 1 obtained in 8/08), I got this message, but I apped for the card they ‘recommended’ (but NOT ‘preapproved’ for) + got it.  just my experience + the credit world’s tanked since then, so I’m not sure whether I’d take the chance today unless it said ‘preapproved’ (which even then doesn’t always mean approved).
