Capital one CLI and utilization

Got a rebuilder card from Cap1 back in 2012 when I was trying to reapair my credit. They started me at $300 then went to $500 after 7th statement and now 2 years later they

did PC to quick silver and increased it  to $750. My scores are in low 700's now and have few prime cards but want to keep this open for aging purposes. My over all credit limit  among 3 cards is around 15k , for utlization purposes if I maxed out Cap1 would it hurt my utlization ?

Re: Capital one CLI and utilization

letting any single card report a balance over ~80% util is considered "maxed out" in the eyes of FICO scoring. You will get a major ding for this even if your overall utilization is still less than 9%. Your score will rebound as soon as you pay it off though, so if you don't mind taking the hit for at least a month and you're not app'ing for any credit, you'll be fine.
