I have been looking for that unicorn of the 100k points on the Platinum AMEX as it would be useful for booking my travel with AMEX (and my company uses Concur to book which does it through AMEX) so it would be idea to have. I however want the best bonus and would hate to know that I "could have had more"
I went on the CreditMatch tool to see if I had the offer but what was interesting.... I entered my information with my current address, the address thats on my credit files and I got nothing for prequal. I was sad.
I tried it again with my old address (parents address) and the Prequals for AMEX came up!
I have no idea what system it's checking, but why it would offer different options from one address to another address. I also have not lived at that address in over 6 years.
Interesting enough I have an AMEX BCE on my current address that did not show the offers.
Anyone else ran into this before? Maybe the key to unlocking the 100k is using any previous addresses?
