How would I go about getting my BCE to have contactless? Is this something I can do through chat? And will they do it for me just because I request?
Yes, just ask in chat but make sure they understand 'contactless' and not EMV

What other issuers will give you a contactless card on request?
Not many. Wells Fargo supposedly used to but I don't think they do anymore. HSBC's cards have it by default (I think) and the new Citi Costco card might have it too. Other than that, I think issuers have basically decided that people should use Apple/Android/Samsung Pay if they want to tap to pay for stuff. Which might be for the best considering how many people mistakenly think their new chip cards will be wirelessly stolen by a thief walking by.
I just tried in chat to get the contactless added to my card, they couldnt do it so I called the number that 'Dave' gave me, and they were able to do it for me.
Those Amex CSRs have the nicest accents. Does anyone know where they are from? Its like a British-Indian accent.
I love it
I would rather just insert and be done. I don't mean to offend anyone but the last thing we need is more people fiddling on the phone while the line grows longer.
Just my 2 cents.
Anyone ever have trouble with RFID? Do you use RFID-blocking wallets?
The negative press has made it seem like extra risk for saving 5 seconds of time. Don't know if the security concerns are overblown, though.

At least with Apple's solution there's not much fiddling involved--just push the home button twice while the screen's off and put the phone an inch or two over the screen. I think there's a bit more fiddling on Android unless you have a phone with a fingerprint reader.

Not me. A lot of the fearmongering is really overblown--you need to be within a couple of inches of the card in the first place, not to mention that you can't get enough to clone a card just from scanning it. And there's enough of a paper trail that it's not realistic to carry a portable terminal around to charge people's cards with either.
