Care Credit CLD

I've just finished reviewing my

accounts at CK and found a Care Credit CLD of $500 ($6500 -> $6000). My credit is in excellent shape - total CLs of $147,550 and total utilization that never goes above 4.5%. This could be a reflection of the fact that I haven't used the thing since paying it off over 18 months ago, or it could have something to do with the current economic climate. Regardless, I thought it was worth a mention just in case anyone else gets hit with a CLD.

That is unfortunate. There's been reports of CLD with non usage.

Yeah, if it's just non-usage, that makes perfect sense. But it seemed

worth mentioning just in case.

Re: Care Credit CLD

That's unfortunate. Perhaps, they'd like to see more use out of it? I've seen a handful of threads lately regarding CLD's. On the upside, yours is only a smaller portion from cuts I've seen on here from other lenders.

Re: Care Credit CLD

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have many reasons to use it. Perhaps when I get my glasses in a few months I could charge them then PIF just to show usage.

As @AllZero pointed out, probably non usage (18 months is a while)

Just an FYI, You can use it for 99% of everything sold at Walgreens .. just swipe the card like a normal CC.

If Walgreen's is an option for you.

Re: Care Credit CLD

How's your overall exposure with Synchrony? New accounts or CLI's on other Synchrony cards?

Sometimes they will lower one limit to allow for a new limit elsewhere in your portfolio with them.

It's been two years since my last use of CareCredit and as of today my limit is still $20k (not to say CLD's aren't in my future).

Re: Care Credit CLD

I use mine every so often at Walgreens for a prescription so it will cut an statement. You also can use at Walmart pharmacy too.

Sorry for the CLD.  18 months of non-use sounds like this could possibly be because of lack of use.  Care Credit has been expanding its usability of late though, so keep an eye out for some opportunities.

Seeing all the CLD's that Synch has been handing out lately prompted me to take advantage of a recent promo they sent out this month... 5% cashback at Walgreens.  I think they did something similar a few months ago, but I brushed it off at that time.

Some items can be used on Care Credit at Walmart as well.  Just swipe it first (it charges items that are eligible) and then pay with a 2nd option for the leftover.
