Thank you.
The Marriott card is not a cashback card

Seek out Doctor of Credit Website. Normally has the offer of the month posted. Link above is popular cash back combos.
like Irish said, Marriot is hotel. Rewards yes, cash no.
I think the biggest public bonuss right now aside from anything targeted, excluding the usual arrival+ and Venture $400 bonuses,
Chase AARP $200 after $500 spend
Bank of America AICPA $175 after $500 spend
Bank of America Travel Rewards $200 after $1000 spend
Also wouldn't the BOA bonuses be 25% more just by having a savings account with $300 in it?
I am seeing folks get the $1,000 bonus again on the Venture if they obtain a mortgage relationship w/ cap1. I dont think that bonus has existed since the card was released years ago.
+1^ !!!!
Yeah bonus to BoA if you have an account with them. Def win on that if the numbers work for you.
Edit: I'm still getting over my anger issues that I didn't qualify for a Sallie Mae until AFTER it was discontinued
You can have someone refer you for the discover it, you get 50$ for nothing but applying through the link as does the one who refers you. (It should double to 100$ at the end of year one with current promo, but can not confirm this) Plus the card is just a solid one for any cash back lineup. It is not the best sign up bonus, but fair and the card is solid. You will be effectively getting 2% on all purchase the first year (allowing you to kick the can down the road on citi double cash), and 1% after year. Plus the 5% rotating categories (essentially 10% for year one), the discover deals portal, and a free monthly transunion fico score. If the person who refers you is in the year one promo I would think that would double for them too. My goal is to refer ten people before my promo ends, which would work out to 500$, and will hopefully double to a cool 1k at the end of year one.
Oh and soft pull credit limit increases ![]()

Always clarify exactly what you mean when you use highly subjective words like "good". What are you specifically looking for? What role is the new card going to serve in your strategy? What would it provide that your other cards are not? Selecting cards is never just about the cards themselves. It's about what suits the individual.

You have to be able to do your own research. Start with the site for the card. The Marriott card accrues Marriott points.

See also the Offer Details tab as it has information on redeeming points.

I never really thought about it, but a referral is probably the only way to get a cashback bonus when applying for the Discover Card. I already have the card but think that is an awesome idea!
Exactly!! What got me thinking about it was my wife needed a card, and Discover seemed like the best choice for the free FICO and other the reasons I listed. Plus it was her first card and Discover is rumored to like thin files. I have not been able to confirm if the referral doubles after year one though.
