Hey ya'll,
I've used this forum for years and its drastically helped my credit preformance, but this is my first time posting since I've found myself in a sticky situtation. I'm in a dire need of a BT card at the soonest possible time as my APR promotional rate from my Chase freedom is set to expire on the 23rd of this month. Never would I have ever planned on paying interest onto a credit card, but I've accepted the fact that I may have to bite the bullet and hold out longer for my application. I would appreciate any additional insight any of you have to offer!
Here are my stats:
- 100% payment history
- AaoA: 2 years, 9 mo
- experian fico score 8: 724
- overall utilization: 18% , 1 chase card is reporting $6 over limit but I've already made an additional payment making it $4,940/$6000 (unreported)
- 9 open accounts, all but my 1 Chase card having 0%
- Prior relationship: 9 years banking, active cash at 6k limit and bilt at 4k limit.
I tried WF's preapproval page and it led me to no offers. Is it worth waiting for chase to report on the 23rd and paying a month of interest? I feel that I may be a bit favored by wells fargo given that my second credit card ever was granted a 6k SL. But I can only hope.
The Refelct card is my only saving grace atm. If anyone can offer some advice would be more than apprecaited!
Thank you!
Even when it reports down to $4940/$6000 that will very likely spook WF. I personally wouldn't apply for anything until you've got that Freedom card below 49%. Also, how many of the 9 accounts have balances?

What is your income that would help, you may want look for a personal loan. I don't think you are going to get approved for any new accounts at this point, you have to high of ul on your chase account.

Curious why the WF Reflect is the only saving grace? The Reflect isn't the only BT card in town and it isn't even the only 21-month card in town. How much more time will you need to pay the $4940 off?
The Reflect is probably the most well known 0% BT interest card at 21 months, but there is also the BankAmericard at albeit 18 months.
OP:
How many months has your Freedom balance been at $6006? How long has the balance been over $5300?
I think OP meant to say all accounts, except the Freedom, are at $0 (but wrote 0% instead.) As an aside, it appears that OP's TCL is about $27,200.
Ive gotten approved for BT cards as long as overall util is low you can recon it.
have you considered any other cards?
if you have less than 2 recent inquiries in the last 6 months, Id say you should try for Citi Diamond Preferred or Citi Double Cash. Maybe even Citi Simplicity or Citi Doublecash. American express blue cash everyday even offers 0% on purchases and BTs for 12 months or so. Dunno what other cards you have.
WF tends to be conservative and recently got into the cc game heavier just a few years ago.
Discover also has 0% for 15 mos.. and y ou can have two discover cards... there 's a pre approval that does only a soft pull on their home site you might check.
It's worth pointing out the Reflect is currently charging 5% balance tranfer fees, so it's not necessarily a better BT choice than the Active Cash which charges 3% BT fee and gives a 15 month 0% APR period.
It would've been my first choice, but i already have that card.![]()
