Unless you get 135,714 UR points each year, the 7% does not really make a difference. At that point, sure. That would cover the annual fee entirely.
Last year I earned 189,352 points with CSP so I would of lost 13k or so in points it not huge just enough to be annoying.
Well, for you, then yes. It makes a difference ^_^. I earned 80k on the CSP. Not anywhere near yours. But I am at 110K with the Ink Plus. Woo hoo lol

You earned 189k points last year which would put your monthly spend north of 10k a month. I don't think you would cancel for $130 dollar loss if redeemed for cashback?

Who said I use the points for cashback, and you don't keep your wealth by brushing off money just because it sounds small. The old adage every penny counts is a very true statment I didn't build what I have by being "reckless" for lack of a better word.
So the "big" downgrades would be 7% gone, and no more extra point for purchasing travel through the UR site?
While that sucks, it doesn't make me want to close the card. (At least for now anyways)

Right, but the phrase was "$130 dollar loss if redeemed for cashback" not saying that you did. But more to the point, it's not brushing off money, the question that you should ask, annoyance aside, is, given the new situation, is the card worth keeping? Yes, it will be 7% less after the end of 2015, does that devalue the UR system enough for you to cancel? And it sounds for you as though the answer is "Yes".
Slightly OT, but does anyone know if the discontinuation of the check or "Pay Yourself Back" option will also apply to Chase Freedom?

They haven't said anything about it yet so I would just not worry about it yet
I got a little over 70K in 6 months last year. So yeah this 7% thing sucks.

Not too bothered by the loss of the 7%, since I don't spend enough on the card to make that big of a difference.
Also, luckily I bank primarily through Chase, so the loss of Pay Yourself Back doesn't really affect me (if I were to have redeemed for cash back, I would have done it directly to my checking).
I can definitely see how this would put someone on the fence though, especially when calculating point values for CSP vs. Barclaycard Arrival+, for example.
