I'm in the process of renovating my bathroom and, to a lesser degree, my bedroom. I've been ordering things left and right, and in the process I've ended up with two separate double charges.
The first doesn't really matter, but for the record, it's on my BofA CCR Visa; the item is a $2,000+ mattress; Bed Bath & Beyond...there's a long backstory, so I'll skip it. Bottom line, it's their error, they're on it, it will have no impact since it will be gone before any interest can accrue.
Not so for the second one. It's a $1,000+ pedestal sink from Lowe's; again, long story which I'll skip, but they're on it--however, it occurred to me yesterday that, given the time-frame they've told me (30 days!), it's going to roll over into my next billing cycle--and accrue interest. I told them I PIF every month and never pay interest, so I'm not thrilled about this. The CSR I spoke to yesterday was very understanding and really got it, but after she explained their process, I understood *why* it's going to take so long.
I told her "it doesn't take 30 days to CHARGE my card, it shouldn't take 30 days to CREDIT it!" But she couldn't help.
I'm venting more than anything. I'd ask for advice but I don't know what anyone can say. It is what it is, their crediting process is what it is, and I can't speed it up. It won't be the end of the world paying interest on $1,000+ for one month, but still, it bugs me because *I* didn't create this situation.
ACH it and wait. Simple man. Follow up, you know what to do.
Don't know if you contacted the credit card company right now Lyft is playing games with me in a dispute and charging every card they have on record so chase has been good to deal with
So these duplicate charges already posted?

Yes, last week. It's only the Citi charge (from Lowe's) that I'm concerned about; the BofA charge (from BB&B) will be resolved soon, probably today.

To be honest, I hadn't thought of that--because it doesn't fit with my monthly cash flow. I've already paid my Citi bill for this month, and won't make another payment until next month's bill is due. As I've noted in other threads, I have all my bills set up to be due a few days after my SS gets deposited, and that's when I pay my bills. I *could* pay this early, it's just not in my normal plan.

Then you should plan on calling and trying to get the interest waved since you are unwilling to pay to avoid it and be prepared to pay a little interest if they say no.....

Why would Citi waive interest? Based on what @SoCalGardener wrote, the charges posted and the bill won't be paid in full before the next billing cycle. Citi is absolutely in the right to charge interest. Either SoCalGardener pays the extra charge before the statement is issued or she goes after Lowes to cover it. Perhaps she can indicate it as an unauthorized charge -- usually those are put in limbo while the credit card company investigates.
I'm not sure what the issue here is since any interest charged would be retroactively removed if investigation/dispute is completed in their favor effectively creating credit for the amount of interest charged.
Charges get adjusted like this all the time with every dispute, you cannot pay interest on a charge that doesn't exist (if/once removed).

I hadn't thought about this in terms of dispute AT ALL. Lowe's explained why the process takes so long, they're not doing anything underhanded or illegal, and I just accepted it. As I said, it won't be the end of the world paying the interest for one month--it just bugs me because I didn't create the situation.
So, no, there's no dispute involved here. At least not with the bank. Maybe as a goodwill gesture I can get Lowe's to reimburse the interest...I don't know.
Also, it seems to me that in this digital world, ANYTHING related to credit card charges just shouldn't take 30 *days*!
