Welcome to the club. I faxed the papers so they can check my 2006 taxes. I told the rep I think they do this just to p*** people off. All they need to see is a check stub and that should be cool. The rep said yeah that would be more easy but that's not the way we do things

I could be wrong, looks to me most of the people so far I heard who got  F/R has a Delta Card in common. I wonder if that has any thing to with it. Delta is supposed to be easier to get card and Amex is giving that card easily and then coming after those customers.

I think this is a chicken/egg question.

Is it that having the Delta Card makes you more likely to be FR'd?

Or, is it that the people whose credit profiles and borrowing habits lead to FR are more likely to have the Delta Card?

I'd say it's more likely the latter.

posts like this scare me-

I opened my Delta- used the heck out of it, wait 6 months and 100 points higher before I opened the Green and Blue cash-

I PIF every month-

As long as AMEX does not freak before the CA's come off-

Anyone notice my siggy?

And the F/R is over. Total length: 6 days. It was minimal work on my part.

I am not sure what to think. I would have no problem with this at all if it was done when I opened my account. But, it was done as soon as I opened the second account. Kind of invading, but this is a credit crunch and I understand they need to make sure I don't charge a bunch of stuff and go delinquent.

At least it was only about 45 seconds of work on my part.

You can't leave us hanging bro!  Smiley Happy  What info did they request?  Did they hassle you over delivery method (attorney/banker/accountant)?  The story is in the details!!

They wanted to make sure I actually have a job/income.

They emailed me an IRS form in which I specified the return type I filed (1040), and the period (it was 12/31/2006). Then I signed it and faxed it back. That's all it was.

They took care of everything else. Effort on my part was about 15 seconds. That doesn't make it not invasive though. But I understand it is CYA on their part.

the form they sent was a release to get at your IRS return (done routinely for mortgage apps).

Are your accounts now thawed?

I don't believe so. I opened my first account (Skymiles) on February 5. Last week I applied for Green and Clear.

In a way I kind of wanted it to happen so I could get it over with. They said they are eventually going to FR all accounts, and I didn't want it to happen when I was in dire need of my card.
