Chase Amazon Prime Closed?

I was approved for a chase amazon credit card around this time a year ago. I have never been late etc. I have no derogs in fact a collection fell off my report that was on wh'en I had the card. I only had a $500 limit but never went crazy with it. However, today my card was declined and I was called just to hear my account had been closed. Idk if this is related but i wrote to chase eo earlier in the week about an unrelated matter. My statement cut today and the card was closed today.

UPDATE: I didnt have to wait for the letter. I nwas told that an AR occurred and they didnt like what they saw. Too many newly opened accounts after the Chase card was opened. Only NFCU accounts was opened after them. Too many inquiries. Again, only NFCU accounts opened after them. Balances etc. I have accepted this definitely wont ever deal with them again.

Did they tell you why they closed it?

no they said it was just done today and that a letter was mailed today.

What was your contact to EO about? It's possible the request caused them to take a manual look at your credit file, at which point they didn't like something they saw.

I'm sorry to hear this, but I'm in agreement with the others that it's very likely that your letter to the EO this week and the timing of the closure aren't a coincidence.

If you don't mind sharing, what was your EO request regarding?

I'm also curious to hear back what the letter states... if you don't mind please share that as well when you recieve it.

The letter to EO was about a checking account. I think you all are right that it was not a coincide

Did your Checking get closed? I know maybe 10 years ago I got added to Chex for a bounced check with my BoA account .... and once that happened Chase shut down my credit card, my prepaid liquid card, and both my bank accounts. They didn't seem to mind that credit has nothing to do with checks... and the bounced check was paid as soon as I knew about it.

(Long story short....i moved with no charge of addy and it closed after like 6 months. I never knew since I didn't use that bank account much. I had written a check from that account instead of my primary account on accident)

Chase's letter just said that they were made aware of it on annual reviews and because of that I was high risk and they were shutting down all my accounts.

Now... this was 10 or more years ago so
Maybe things aren't the same. Just wondering if the Checking you wrote to EO about was closed or reported to Chex. If they see something that scares them they may shut all your accounts down.

Sorry OP. This sucks. It always sucks when you try to do the right thing and get slapped with something that only makes you feel deflated.

Please let us know what happens and what the letter said.
