Chase Amazon Visa Prequalify

Can't submit prequalifying request for Chase Amazon Visa credit card on Amazon site. Response is "Can't obtain credit report". Called Chase...they are unaware of this circumstance. They suggested calling Amazon. Amazon has no idea...they suggested calling Chase. Kind of difficult to resolve when both principle parties have no idea what's going on. Anyone else have a thought?  Thanks much. By the way. I have no credit freezes going on.

it's a known issue, haven't seen DPs of any other solutions other than wait, or try applying for a chase bank account in branch so they can get your ID on file

There's a lot of people going on Amazon and getting this same message. Is this purposeful from Chase? Is this a polite way of saying "you're not prequalified"? Chase just increased the Amazon Gift Card associated with getting the Chase Visa to $200.00. Surely they are promoting it. Why would they not correct this, if indeed it is a technical error? A  little bit odd.

Based on the seemingly not so uncommon false positives it hands out that yield denials on app, I'm not sure anything of value is lost, anyway...  I'm not sure you have a better idea of approval with a prequal than without one.
