Thnx for the info. I don't think recon would work in my case, I think it would be difficult in explaining why I have over 90 inq on my EQ in two years. Unless they accept 'being a credit addict' as a recon reason :-)  I was just wondering if the system is real time or not. Only I recall from a previous app spree that one banks automated line kept saying "under review" but received a decline letter.. I thought it was Chase but not sure.... Damn, I really wanted this as my main card, I should have apped for it first. No biggie I'll re-apply in 3 months and make sure its my first app in that months spree Smiley Happy

You could say you were really unsure of which products you wanted, but after reviewing Chase's awesome freedom card, you decided that you really would like to use Chase Freedom for all you're daily spending Smiley Wink

I had over 20 when they approved me

Well that is kinda true as I have been wanting the chase SP card for a little while now, and would love it to be my main card.  As for the inq's most are from CLI such as Citi when I didn't realize each month that I'd apply for a CLI on my sears, homedeopt and cc would result in HP's.  Others are from app sprees every three months for the last 12 months. Of course these were due to shopping around trying to get a good card with decent benefits etc.

I  noticed they pulled both EX and EQ this time (the only pulled eq three months back). Looking at ithis in a  positive way they can see I don't carry any cc debt since I PIF and have well over 100K in available cc credit.  Which begs the question why I want another? Because the chase SP is far more awesome than any cc I currently have! (and trust me i have a few lol) Smiley Happy  when your building credit you continuously app not just because of the thrills but also each time you hope to get that slightly better deal Smiley Happy right ?

When you call to recon,  Explain these items in red to the analyst....

You were ignorant... not necessarily needing additional credit, but you didn't understand that a HP was a bad thing when you were asking for CLI every month.

If
If you get approved, I have hope and my leave the garden to get my Freedom.  My situation is the same, but I only have around 16 (EQ) and 8 (TU/EX) inquries.  I have been nervous since AMEX denied me a BCP for too many inquries.  I'd like to have the Freedom for my "everything else" card until I get approved for the BCP.  X my fingers for ya!!!

AmEx PRG (NPSL) | AmEx Costco ($8.2K) | AmEx Delta Gold ($19.3K) | AmEx BCE ($5K) | Chase United Explorer ($10K) | Chase Sapphire Preferred ($7.5K) | Chase Freedom ($8.2K) | Discover it ($3K) | Capital One Quicksilver ($2.5K) | PayPal Extras ($2.5K) | Lowes ($3.3K) | Walmart ($4.3K) | Amazon ($2.5K) | Restoration Hardware ($8.8K) | Crate & Barrel ($8.3K)

yep.  11 days and counting....  My longest gardening spell was 4 months with no apps Smiley Happy

I've been doing great things with the few apps that I've had in the last six months.

in the last six months I've had  1 HP on EX.  2 HP on EQ.  2 HP on TU

Re: Chase Application status line

Their automated line has been fairly slow lately and I'm ont quite sure why.

When I applied in February for the Presidential Plus card, I was instantly approved. I called in and the system told me my CL within about 24 hours.

I applied for the J.P. Morgan Ritz Carlton card a couple of months ago, and was also instantly approved. However the same automated number couldn't tell me my CL until about 4-5 days later.

EX 798, EQ 789, TU 784
American Express Platinum (NPSL) || Bank of America Privileges with Travel Rewards Visa Signature - $23,200 CL
Barclays American Airlines Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard - $20,000 CL || Chase IHG Rewards World Mastercard - $25,000 CL
Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa Signature - $12,700 CL || Chase United MileagePlus Club World Elite MasterCard - $26,500 CL
