Chase CL Transfer

Am I able to transfer credit from my INK PIF card with a $15k revolving limit to my CSP ? I would want my new CSP limit to be $31k and my INK be $5k.  Any success stories ?

Re: Chase CL Transfer

In order to do this you have to request a credit limit increase on the Chase Sapphire Preferred first. Chase says the only way for them to transfer the limit from a business to personal is after a credit limit increase for the personal is done. If the increase is less than you want, you can ask them to move it from the Ink. I spoke to three different people about one week apart and they all said the same thing, so there seems to be no way around it.

Good to know! I tried to transfer limits from Business to Personal a while ago and just got a  "Sorry, we can't complete the request". No real explanation.

Re: Chase CL Transfer

Thanks for the replies, I also just received a reply to my SM I sent a few days ago.  FYI, here is the response:

Thank you for contacting Chase about transferring credit
limits of your account.

I would like to inform you that the option to transfer
limit from a business card to a consumer card is
unavailable. However, please note that you have the
option to request for a credit limit increase on your
Sapphire card.

I will be happy to process your request for a credit line
increase. In order to do so, please reply to this email
with the following information:

* Gross Annual Income (Alimony, child support or separate
maintenance income need not be revealed if you do not want
to consider these as a basis for repayment. Gross Annual
Income is income that you are able to use for repaying
your debts. Examples may include income earned from
salaries, investments, rental properties, Social Security
benefits and retirement accounts.)

* Total credit line you are requesting (Current credit
line plus amount of requested increase.)

By submitting a request for a credit line increase, you
authorize Chase to obtain a copy of your credit report,
credit bureau history and any other information in order
to determine if the request can be approved. After your
request has been processed, you will be notified of the
outcome via email.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

I was told the same thing at first; no transferring from business to personal. However, a business analyst told me that you have to contact lending services (not business analysts)and they are the ones who have the authority to do it, after you ask for an increase first. I'm not sure what number it is on the backdoor thread, but after you submit the request you could ask to be transferred to the lending department. This was only about two months ago, so most likely their policy has not changed, although it could have.

Re: Chase CL Transfer

Its really not a huge deal, I just know that the $15k they gave me on the Ink is about $12k more than I need...
