You also get 7% back as a "dividend".
Additionally, UR points from Chase can be used to get a 20% discount on flight/travel...
2x points on dining too.
The regular Chase Sapphire seems to be a great card too, just not as many perks! You out of all people if your only getting 20% more for your points I want to smack you with a stick.... I'm getting 4.3 cents per point with my usage.
Chase UR points are the most valuable points, and can easily be worth 2-3 cents per point minimum. With that being said it's also metal and 0% foreign transaction fee 7% dividend and double points for travel even bus, tax, toll fares.
Chase UR points strengths are partner transfers. 1:1 for Chase to United Airlines
65,000 miles can get you to Asia on a economy saver award. Price ranges upto $1,200 to $2,800 depending on season but points requirements are the same. I fly in peak season so I get the full redemption rates at over 4.3 cents per point
For first class saver tickets can reach upwards of $12,800 for 130k points. Almost 10 cents per point value here.
You can also find great deals with hotels as well. 30k points to book at a Ritz in Miami where the rooms were $1,000 + for Ultra music festival etc.
thanks! its clearly a great card for travelers
not just for travelers, they have many other uses, but it's great to save up for a vacation even if you don't travel much. I mean if it's virtually free you'd travel more right?
There are ways to get completely free vacations =X I made several hundred thousands of points within 6 months
I won't have to pay for airline ticket or a hotel room anytime soon =)
Do you actually have the time to do all that travel?
instead of starting another thread, im gonna borrow this thread a little.
How long does it take for me to get my sign up bonus for the CSP?
I received the card last week and I've made over 3k worth of purchases and some are pending but most are posted. I will be paying it in full at the end of the week.
Does it give me the points within a month after I pay, or do I have to wait the 3 full months before they credit it to me?
Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure about the CSP, but when I got my 10,000 bonus points from my Freedom card, it was a statement cycle or 2 before it was added to my account. It's probably the same with the CSP.

It's really not that difficult. Even if you're a heavy spender, it's easy to burn that many points on a single trip once per year (doubly true if you're travelling with a family who need tickets too). Example: A family of 4 would need 100k UA miles for a round-trip ticket from California to Disney World in Orlando. Hotel would then require additional points on top of that 100k.

It should post after your current statement closes.

@Open123 thanks for pointing out you can downgrade to the no fee sapphire, had I realized that I probably would have tried applying for it before I applied for my three most recent cards 2 weeks ago.
After letting my new accounts age I will be applying for this card
If I was to get it and keep it for a year and downgrade it, would that be a new TL or would downgrading not affect my credit score?
When I went from Chase Sapphire to CSP they had to close out my CS and open a new CSP it did show on my report but I dont think it affected the score by any more than +/- 2 points. YMMV

Easy answer and pretty standard by now. It's a great card if you value UR transfers (to UA and Hyatt), need no forex fee and spend tons on travel/dining.
First year fee wavied (just downgrade to no fee Sapphire without hassle when fee is due next year), 40K points and a metal card. Aside from being certain of a decline, is there any reason not to like it?
PS - 5% no fee rotating cards are limited to $300 annual cashback. This is right off the bat with $400 and annual fee waived. Who cares about the fee moving forward? Is it really that much pain to close or downgrade card? You *NEVER* actually pay the fee. Isn't this just simple "black and white" cost/benefit analysis? There's nothing complex, no obfuscation and nothing even remotely abstract.
thanks for pionting that out to me, I was scared of the AF, but knowing I could just downgrade it in 23 months so I only pay the AF once, or even trying at 11 months so I dont pay it at all made me want it enough to apply. so I did, and was approved! thanks Open123!

Ditto on this. ^
Also 65k points are for Economy, 130k can be easily spent for a first class saver award. Then add a few nights of hotels in the mix that's over a couple hundred thousand easy depending on the level of hotel.
