Re: Chase Credit Card

Geeze I have 2 cards with them, one is 18.24 and the other is 21.24. I would kill for %10~. I called once about my freedom card and they pretty much said, "take it or leave it". I also have an auto loan through them, and have made all payments on time for the 2 years that loan has been open. I have rebuild cards, like Merrick bank which is 15%, chase is not Prime IMO, if there is a such thing these days.

Its bad enough that our taxes have pumped capital into these joints, they have to RJ us into oblivion, and they still can't keep their doors open.

Re: Chase Credit Card

Don't know about requesting an APR decrease but I've had 2 APR decreases (without asking), since I opened the Freedom card about 15 mo. ago.

However, I did recently request a CLI on my Sapphire card and was granted a 100% increase - (5K to 10K).

Re: Chase Credit Card

10.24% is actually quite low for Chase these days.  Many have much higher rates even with long histories and perfect accounts.   Mine is 29.99%, although it is a former WAMU account.

Very few banks are offering below 10% these days.  PenFed doesn't offer lower than 12.5%.  Many other CU's are at 9.9% and higher.  So IMO you have a reasonable rate and are not likely to get anything lower from that CCC.

Oh really?  That's funny, I'm not paying any monthly maintenance fees, ridiculous annual fees, and my credit limit is decent.

Smiley Sad  I just applied and was approved (upon recon) for a Chase Slate ($1500 CL).  I thought I was getting something good!

like many issuers Chase appears to service both prime and non prime accts and has been widely viewed as a prime issuer historically afaik.

you got a great approval on one of their new products. big banks are doing some scary things that can make them look very subprime.  treat the account well and hope for the best. many of us have cu, and/or small or regional bank cc as back up or primary cc since big banks at times may not fulfill our expectations.

Re: Chase Debit Card

On a somewhat related note, when I was making a deposit yesterday I was told that I needed to replace my WaMu debit card and was offered 3 different rewards debit cards with AFs. Needless to say, I'm stepping up my credit union search...
