Chase Freedom CLI?

Chase Freedom CLI?

I currently have a freedom with 18k CL and thinking of asking for a bit more. I haven't had a CLI with Chase for over 1 year. My current balance is just shy of 2k, 1500 of which will be paid before beginning of next month. Scores between 768-772 according to my Wells Fargo identity theft protection page. New accounts with AMEX middle of April (Platinum) and Best Buy MasterCard in March, otherwise no new accounts or inquiries recently.

Any thoughts of if I should go for it? If so, what is the best way to ask for the CLI? Online/over the phone? Only hesitation that I have is that I don't want them to reduce my current CL! =P

Re: Chase Freedom CLI?

As long as you don't mind the hardpull then do it online or phone which ever you are comfortable with the most.  If you already have it that high, how much do you want to increase it to if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Chase Freedom CLI?

I was thinking of $22-$25 range. I see that Chase has been pretty generous to you!

That's because she has millions in banking with them.

Oh ok.. .Not bad.. I have all my banking with Chase.  Personal, Business etc... They have been very good to me and my favorite and number 1 bank.  If you don't mind the hardpull, I'd say have a go at it.

Keep us posted on results.

Instead of asking for a CLI on your Freedom, why not app for another Chase card? Then you can move credit limits between them, as you see fit.

Re: Chase Freedom CLI?

I don't really have need for another card right now. The only card that I would want is CSP and don't want to pay the AF on it lol I have had the Freedom/CSP combo before and didn't like when I got the limit of the first card axed in half for the second one. Personal preference I guess.

If they cut your limit when you opened another card, then you might be at your maximum exposure with Chase.

Re: Chase Freedom CLI?

That is kinda why I asked here before diving into applying for CLI. That was about 3 years ago and I truly do not know why it happened. There was not excessive balances on either card. My score has gone up along with my income. I still have nothing negative on my report and now have a mortgage reporting that I did not have back then.
