So Ill try to sum up experience with Chase recently.
I currently have 2 joint chase accounts and auth on 3 others.
My chase freedom plus use to be a circuit city store card converted to visa and then product changed to freedom plus 4k CL
Little over year ago CLD to $2600 and then went over CL because I didn't get notice until after I put more charges on it.... default APR 20.24
Fast forward to this week and I get notice new charges after this date will be at 27.94% due to going over CL... I was pretty sure I had not gone over CL so called.
Apparently 1 day before my payment cleared I had charged something and it took me $6.42 over CL.
Escalated to... I guess back door people.
She reviewed the account and agreed to reverse the new APR... I was like thank you but that's not enough, a year ago when I got the original default rate to 20% (was 9.24%) I was told after a year of not going over and not missing a payment it would automatically go back to original rate.... she said the account was reviewed in February and it did not qualify. I told her it was very displeased with chase and she said how about I set up auto pay for you... I told her that makes me mad that you are offering me free products I can do myself. So she said what can I do to make you happy your doing business with chase. I told her Cash or points.
She quickly said no problem and put 2500 points on the freedom card ($25)
I'm still unhappy with rate but the card is going to be paid off in 2 weeks so no biggie and I felt it was a nice gesture on Chase' part even though it's not much
