As others have mentioned, this is a bad idea.
First you will miss out on the signup bonus and second you will loose the advantages of the Freedom + CSP pairing.
rethink!

Looking to convert my Chase Freedom Visa Signature to the CSP. Anyone know whether or not a HP is done, or anything to that extent?
Anyone else who has done this, would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks
Interesting question ... I called today and Chase told me I could p/c (no HP) to either the CSP or the Slate from my Freedom Card. This thread has given lots of viable information that makes the process require more thought of a p/c. The sharing of points is a biggy and the signup bonus. Asked about a p/c to say the Chase AARP Card and that was a no go. Food for thought.

Of course they'd be glad to PC you into a CSP to avoid paying out the bonus and waiving first year AF.
+1
Of course, there are always exceptions to the above rule. If a HP is worth more than the savings (bonus + waived AF), it might make sense to PC to the CSP. For someone with a mortgage refinance in the next few months, the savings of the CSP might be less than the value of a HP. The person would usually be better off waiting till after the mortgage and applying for the CSP, but let's say this hypothetical person also spend 20k a month on CSP optimized spend (dining/travel). In such a situation, PCing something to the CSP would make a lot of sense. But for most of us, the $495-$1000+ value of the waived AF and 40k UR points is worth the HP.

Its certainly worth it to me. I've got 72k UR saved.
i am happy with UR again i have almost 200 k saved up trying to determine what to do with them. I am starting to think maybe Fly ANA business to BKK on my trip to far east. The fuel surcharges are so little makes it probably worth it compared to KE.
Do you know what you want to do with your UR points yet?

Hahaha, yeah right.
Thats crazy talk haha I want to get at least 5 CPP value for my points haha. Flying ana business i think is probably good enough.

When I read the red text, I wanted to take back the kudo I gave you, then I read the blue text and everything was right with the world again!
UR points = Hyatt or Airlines for first/business class or British Airways (if insufficient MR points for transfer since UR > MR for point valuation for me) for short hop flights only!

i have actually been thinking about doing something like transfer to Avios and use it for air berlin which i think has no fuel surcharges. Flying to copenhagen would be intresting usage probably not the best value , but something to keep in mind to get to europe.
