Hey all,
I applied and was approved for a Chase Freedom on November 17th. I signed up during the spend $500; get $200 back promotion. Today is the end of 30 days. I have $399.26 posted to my account with $148.29 "pending". So I am over the $500 spend. Will this still qualify even though the final chunk is still pending?
You should be fine, since technically the spend was met before the period ended. The transactions haven't fully cleared but you have spent the money.
Next time though I'd advise not cutting it so close. Today is February 17th as you know. If there's any way to meet the spend sooner next time, I'd do it. Save yourself from having to worry about it since you are right up at the end of the deadline.
The current promotions reads as follows:
This new cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this consumer credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this consumer credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this consumer credit card within the last 24 months. You will receive 10,000 bonus points with this bonus offer, which can be redeemed for $100 cash back. To qualify and receive your bonus, you must make Purchases totaling $500 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. ("Purchases" do not include balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like charges such as travelers checks, foreign currency, and money orders, any checks that access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.) After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your account. To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment
I would assume the conditions on your offer are identical with an exception to the bonus amount to be paid. Id say your ok ask it reads.
