Chase Freedom - Was I upgraded?

I checked my reports today and saw:

1 item removed: Chase Freedom

1 item added: Chase Freedom

Looked over the account - looks the same but it's now reporting as 'Flexible Spending Card'

Logged into Chase and it now says 'Credit Access Line' instead of 'Credit Limit'

Did I get upgraded to a Visa Signature? I've only had the card 9 months.

I assume this is a good thing? Or am I being handed rope to hang myself with? Smiley Happy

I have been carrying a balance on the card taking advantage of the 0% but making large payments each month (will be PIF March well before 0 offer ends) and making sure they get their share of card swipe fees each month.

No messages from Chase regarding but it took a month or so before they told me they'd bumped up my CL too.

Re: Chase Freedom - Was I upgraded?

Sounds to me like you've got yourself a Visa Signature. That is assuming you have at least a 5k limit.

I have a Freedom Signature myself and that is the way it is listed on my reports.

Re: Chase Freedom - Was I upgraded?

It looks like an upgrade to a signature card to me too .... hopefully it is not just a reporting error.  Customer initiated upgrade requests require 1 year history but this probably would not apply if Chase is offering the upgrade. Congrats if this is the case Smiley Happy

Re: Chase Freedom - Was I upgraded?

Yes, congrats on your VS upgrade. That is exactly how it happened for me last month when my card turned a year old. A note though: you will have to call or send a SM requesting a new VS card, or else they will let your current one expire before sending. I received mine two weeks ago. Enjoy your new Freedom status!

Personal Credit? Check. Business Credit? Check.
Mission Accomplished.

"Credit Access Line" [Personal] or "Revolving Credit Line" [Business] means you have moved to the Visa Signature level and Chase sticks to the you must be qualified for the $5K credit limit first. Note, there are some postings on this site where people have re-allocated Chase credit lines/limits and they keep their Visa Signature even though they traded limits and dropped below the $5K Chase rule.

Nope... mine was issued as regular and at that time it said credit limit ... is yours a Signature ?  I believe I saw some high limits which had not been issued as Signature cards... mine was 5K and not a Siggy at the beginning

Yes, forgot about this and it happened to me. They did not issue the card as a Visa Signature even though the limit was way over the $5K requirement. Also, had to have the account over a year ... forgot about that. One plus, it took them a week to evaluate my account but no HP was made!
