Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited Travel Protection

So i was bored and just browsing around benefits for the Freedom Cards, Just Realized both cards have Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption.

If you go to Ultimate Rwards Site and go to Card Benefits. My Freedom Cards are not Visa Signature/Infinite Cards. They are regular visa.

"You can be reimbursed up to $1,500 per person and $6,000 per trip for your pre-paid, non-refundable passenger fares"

Is this something new? I thought to get some type of travel protection i have to apply for Sapphire Cards or atleast have a Visa Signature card.

Also comes with Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver

It's not new.

Note the coverage limits are higher on most Chase AF cards, and most Chase AF cards also have some sort of trip delay coverage (which Freedom and CFU lack).

I don't think Visa Sig vs. Platinum changes anything since the benefits come from Chase and not Visa. Many of the AF cards are VS only.

As far as the auto rental coverage, it is generally secondary to any policy you may have on a personal vehicle when you rent within the USA. CSP, CSR, and I think a few others are the exception.
