Chase Freedom and Starbucks

Does anyone know if Starbucks is coded as a "Quick-Service Dining Establishment" for Chase Freedom categories?

Re: Chase Freedom and Starbucks

Thank you for the list, Marvintran.

Oddly enough, the answer to this question will help me decide what to do with my Cap1 card.

I have the No Hassle Cash card, which gives me 1.25% cash back on all purchases, but it's one of those rebuilder cards and had a $500 limit.  I called to cancel it, and they gave me a CLI to $1K.  I decided to keep it for now, but if they won't waive my $29 AF when it comes due, I was going to just cancel it.

Then I saw that they recently started giving 2.5% cash back on all B&M Starbucks purchases $5 and over.  Since I use my CC to load my registered Starbucks gift card, my purchases will always be more than $5.

So....

Right now I have the Citi Plat Amex, which gives me at least 3% on all purchases for two years, but once that reverts to 1%, I plan on getting a Chase Freedom.

Now that I know that Chase Freedom counts Starbucks as a Quick-Service Restaurant, I can safely dump the Cap1 card and still get decent rewards on my Starbucks purchases once I get the Chase Freedom two years from now.

Whew.  I can draw a map to go with that if anyone needs one.

Thanks again, Marvintran.

Re: Chase Freedom and Starbucks

I followed that just fine. I must say though, you are quite the planner if you are already figuring out the rewards for your starbucks purchases 2 years from now. Smiley Surprised

And, here I am using the card I've already got a few times to see if it works. Bahaha!

Well, that plan is subject to change 10 or 11 times between now and then, I'm sure. Smiley Wink
