if i were you, i would apply for Chase, i Don't think it will hurt you, Cards to consider, the Amazon and AARP from Chase are easier to get than the Freedom, just so you know...
I have never heard about the AARP being easier to get than the Freedom. Hmmmmmm and it comes with 3% cashback on gas and restaurants and there's no cap. While the 5% cashback categories from the Freedom sound great and all but I'm not even sure if I'd use all those categories or not. Now I think I have a new card consideration for the future and considering how I'm already with Chase, I'll definitely take a look at it next year or so. What scores are they looking for when it comes to the AARP? I already have an idea for the Amazon Chase card but I have no desire for that one whatsoever.
Would be kinda weird for me to have a card like that or to even think about joining AARP so young but you really got me thinking there.
The Freedom needs Higher Score than the AARP, Maybe the AARP is easier to get because the AARP is Co-Branded, Another thing, The AARP comes with the same $100 if you spend $500 in 90 days like the Freedom does and for the AARP you can be any age........i haven't joined AARP, i just have the Chase AARP Credit Card

Makes it even better then. Seeing as how Barclays has shot me down once again (I guess they really don't like me much and I think when I got my SW card with Chase, they saw my more recent accounts and inquiries and stuff), that card is really looking like a great deal.
FYI after being approved for Discover IT they pulled Equifax (fico 670) and there was NO score change from inquiry. I tried for freedom and did not get approved. Chase pulled Experian (my lowest number at 658) and the inquiry only caused a fico score reduction by 1 point ! I will not apply for any more cards for 6 months now, and then retry freedom after I get my numbers up by end of Feb.
