Hi all,
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I noticed a green "you're pre-approved" ribbon and star next to their Preferred and Reserve cards on the Chase Credit Journey page, and I was just curious if this was a good indication of potential approval or if it's just marketing?
Thanks ![]()

YMMV but for me it was a very good indication. App'd the day I saw it and was approved for the CSP with a $24k SL.
My scores at the time where around the mid 740's I think. It was about 18 months ago, so not 100% sure.

While there are hardly any guarantees when it comes to credit, a green (or sometimes black) banner associated with a Chase Credit card in the offers or just for you section is about as close as you can get.
There will be a HP (possibly two) when you apply. Also if you look at the details of your offer(s), you will notice a minimum SL you must qualify for ( 5K for CSP, 10K for CSR).
If any of these offers would be valuable in terms of your spending habits, go ahead and apply as the offers tend to disappear and reappear...
If you are under 5 new accounts in the last 24 months, and nothing negative in your report, then it's a very good indication that you will be approved.
Yes that's pretty solid, in some cases even bypassing the 5/24 restriction noted above.

It's a legitimate pre-approval, not just marketing.

Thats a green light for sure, i had the pre approvals for all their core cards when i was approved for the CFU.
Starting Score: 512

I have a green star with pre-approval and fixed APR, but I didn't apply because I'm 5/24 rn. I heard that this method stopped bypassing 5/24 last year.
OP please let us know if you're over 5/24 and end up applying!
I wish I would of have read this post before I applied. I had the SW pre-approval on the southwest app - applied and got a Double Pull TU and EXP and I got the nice 7-10 day notice. Even with a. Solid APR within the application.
wayyyyyy over 5/24

Speaking of chase pre-approvals, my account is .. weird.
One day I'll have Slate, then a few days later it disappears, then it's turn for United and whatever ugly blue plane card, then Marriot, back to Slate.
I've had this going on for over a month now.
They don't list SL, but it's "You're pre-approved"
Also, placement is super weird. Sometimes they are in "Just for you section", sometimes on the bottom of daily snapshot, and other times I see them if I go Open Account > Credit Cards
And.. when I'm done deciding, they disappear.
In the past, pre-approvals would come and go, but not in mere days, and they certainly didn't cycle though 4 cards in the same week
🤷♀️
