Chase Preapproval

Ok so I need some help.

I opened my Chase app this morning and I have 3 pre approvals. I am happy but hesitant because I checked my Experian app and it says I have 6/24.  (2 from home lenders). On my fico app it says 2/24. I'm confused and hope someone can clarify this for me. I'm going to try to attach the screenshots so you can see.

Also I don't see where the CL is they are pre approving me for.

Please help.

Re: Chase Preapproval

5/24 refers to credit card/revolving type accounts opened in the last 24 months, not inquries, not loans

Have you opened more than 4 credit cards/revolving lines of credit appearing on your credit report in the last 24 months, regardless if they have an inquiry (the preapprovals on your chase account highly suggest you haven't, but you might have)

Re: Chase Preapproval

Ohhh I see. This entire time I was thinking it was inquires. I've only gotten 2 in the last 24 months. So because I have these preapprovals, does it mean I have a good chance of approval? My experian is 719, no collections. And where do I find the amount they want to preapproved me for. I have a chase freedom unlimited with a 12k limit. Should I shoot for the sapphire preferred?

Absolutely! Shoot for the Reserve--you are going to get it.  Note that Chase uses their own scoring system.  I have a 720 TU--(they only pulled TU) and a recent approval I received noted that their own proprietary score had me at 789... so go figure?!

Re: Chase Preapproval

I had the csp and csr preapprovals as well last year. If you are going for the csp I would wait a bit. I have heard on dr of credit that a new in branch 90k SUB is coming soon. That is if you apply in branch you can get this better offer. I would wait until that is active.

BTW... I find Chase to be incredibly candid on the phone.  I would call them and ask them if you are elligible for all 3--or 2 and what credit lines they can offer you.  If you already have a Chase card they may very well only pull soft inquiries--ask!

For what its worth, if you're really interested in the CSP, starting 3/19 if you apply in branch the SUB is 90k points vs the listed 60k on site.

Re: Chase Preapproval

Also, you can PC from the csp to the csr after your one year anniversary. If you were eyeing the csr.

Re: Chase Preapproval

@BenConrad Unless things have changed very recently, Chase will only approve you for 2 cards in a 30 day period and as long as you're within the whole 5/24 rule... If you can get three, that would be a great data point for someone to share.

Re: Chase Preapproval

I'm on the phone with them now and they are saying they don't have the capability to tell me what card I am preapproved for and for how much. Lol. I may have to head to a branch.
