Re: Chase Product Change

Slate requires a 5K limit to convert.

You can't merge a MC / V together... only like products V+V or MC+MC.

If it's "partner" specific  you may have an issue converting to another product due to the contracts Chase and Partners have.

Personally I just run monthly bills through these accounts to collect the free 1% back for what I would normally use my debit card for.  This way I manage to get my 3% on my money in my checking account and another 1% through Chase... make 4% vs. nothing Smiley Happy  CC's are a sham unless you have impecible credit scores to get the best offers...but to get those scores you have to deal with these %^#%^#$% first.  *shrug*

Sidenote... my lowest APR right now is 7.75% w/ a 11K limit... skip the banks and go CU!!!

Re: Chase Product Change

I FINALLY got around to calling Chase and...

They were able to product change my card to the Chase Freedom without any hassle at all Smiley Very Happy This is great news as I have a $17,000 CL on this card and it was practically just sitting there being unused. Now I have a reason to use it.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Re: Chase Product Change

I had a Slate and wanted to upgrade to a rewards card, and they upgraded me to a Saphire, with no problem.  I carried the Saphire for a while, but due to my overall plan for pursuing cash rewards, the Freedom fit better.  I called again and they downgraded me to a Freedom, again with no problem.

I just got my new Freedom MC (switched from an old WaMu MC to Perfect Card to Freedom) in the mail and the card is kinda cheap looking.  The old Freedom design is nicer and feels like a real credit card.  This one feels like it came with training wheels..LOL!!  The Sapphire card looks nicer but the Freedom rewards program is a much better fit for me too.
