I currently hold the CSP and I also want the CSR now that Chase no longer has the one Sapphire rule. Hypothetically, what would Chase do if I do this.
1. Product Change CSP to Chase Freedom
2. Apply for CSR for SUB
3. After approval for CSR, product change Chase Freedom back to CSP
This would what I'd ideally want for my Chase card set up
Chase Sapphire Reserve
Chase Sapphire Preferred
Chase Freedom Unlimited
For me it is the 2x back on travel since Chase's travel category covers a lot of stuff and the 3x back on streaming doesn't hurt either.
How much do you spend on streaming? That's less than $100 for me.

Don't you already have Amex Blue Cash Preferred? That's 6% for streaming.
Yes but I am going to be downgrading to the Amex BCE since I'm planning on getting the Gold and that can take over the grocery category. So the CSP would really be the 3x on streaming and 2x on all travel.

If you can wring out a lot more than 3% and 2% in those categories, then CSP could work out even with the $95 fee. Otherwise, something like the Wells Fargo Autograph could be more cost effective with no annual fee.
