Hi, all-
I applied for a Chase Sapphire Reserve recently, about a week ago, and am pretty sure I'll be aproved. I also want to apply for an Ink Business Preferred and a Chase Freedom unlimited, and had two Q's:
1 - How far apart should I space the applications? Pretty sure I am 0/24 re: opened accts.
2 - Can you get the max 1.5x benefit on ALL transferred points (booking thru Chase UR portal)? For example, I see Ink Business Pref, the value of a point when booking thru UR is 1.25, but the Chase SR is 1.5. Can you transfer all Chase Ink and Freedom points to the Chase SR account to max out the 1.5x benefit that comes with that card?
Thanks!

On 2). Yes, transfer them to the CSR account, and use them from there. There have been rumors that Chase might change, so that points cannot be transferred (at least at full value) from say the Freedom, but currently things work.

1. I'd let a payment cycle or two go through on the CSR before opening up the freedom. Chase has been cracking down on people who are apping for a lot of cards in a short period of time, so I would just let them get to know you a bit first. In which case I'd app for the CSR and Ink now and then let some time pass before going for freedom. Not sure of your credit history but with the Ink Chase will want to see at least a full year of credit history on your report.
2. The best value for these points is usually transferring them to travel partners like airlines are hotels and the significant value comes from international premium travel bookings. The value of a chase UR point is going to depend on how you redeem it. If you only want cash back then these probably aren't the cards for you (except maybe the business card if you have a lot of spend in specific categories) as there are 2% cash back cards out there without an AF.
I agree that transferring the UR points to an airline (such as United) would get you the best value.
I've been getting 1.5 cents of value from each United mile when booking international economy tickets. I've made five trips to Europe in the last three years, so this is recent data.
