Chase auto CLI on co-brands

Anyone have any experience with auto CLIs recently with chase? I have a United quest card with only a 5k limit. Its growing a bit frustrating since I need to run 10k through the card yet I keep coming up against the limit. Been throwing some payments on the card to free up credit because I got other charges I need to put on there. Wondering how soon you can see an auto cli on a new card and if chase is being generous with those lately. Have had them in the past. I am not interested in requesting a CLI from chase because once I meet the spend on this card it will likely be used very sparesely. I'm running most of my spend through this card at this point.

Re: Chase auto CLI on co-brands

They do happen, but they're not that frequently posted in the Approvals forum. The most recent auto-CLIs reported were a decent batch from the Amazon Visa.

Since there isn't a hard and fast rule on Chase auto-CLIs, I would temper expectations. If you're constantly cycling the card, it's fairly possible (not guaranteed of course) that a CLI *could* happen in as early as ~6 months or around the 12-month mark.  But, there are instances where it could take longer.

Re: Chase auto CLI on co-brands

Chase gave me an auto-CLI from 5k to 8.5k four months after I opened my United Explorer card earlier this year.

I had been running some decent spend through it, but nowhere close to what you're talking about.

Re: Chase auto CLI on co-brands

Just earlier this morning I saw that my Disney Rewards Visa had an auto CLI of $3,000, was $6.2k now $9.2k. Totally surprised but had been increasing its use over the past few months and paying it down within days of making the charge. Got the card in January of this year.

Thanks. I was closing my explorer card anyway and they let me move over 3.9k of that credit line which gives me the breathing room I wanted on the Quest card. I just didn't like being constantly near the max on one specific card even though I had lots of available credit on my other chase cards.

I'm not sure how many you currently have, but if you have other Chase cards that are not being utilized as much, then that's also an option as far as moving limits around. Then, *if* a CLI were to occur down the road, you can re-allocate back.

True. Though the other cards with credit lines are cards that may actually see spend more often in the future and/or cards that I do not intend to close anytime soon if ever. I don't know what I will do with the quest card in a year I may have use for it after the first year or it might get closed or maybe just changed into an explorer card depending on my needs. There was no real reason to keep my current explorer card and pay the AF though if I already had another united card.
