Thanks guys for the motivating words, I am fairly new to credit cards, got a little overzealous in applying but I want to build a strong foundation for my credit profile. I think that will start now with the 10 accounts I have currently. I'll use them all responsibly, and build up my profile over time. Me getting approved for more cards is just an extra bonus to me, its exciting and fun, almost like an achievement but not needed. I'm glad I found this forum, we can see how each one of us are growing, and the little mishaps we go through on our credit journey.
The best way to build a solid credit profile is three credit cards and a car loan, not ten credit cards.

I always wonder how they code these things on their end. Some folks that have been shutdown because of a risk assessment evaluation (possible bust out score trigger) are bucketed into a category for some time. For example, a new application 6 months from now could trigger a denial citing “Past Unsatisfactory Relationship.”
I’ve done some reading here, via Reddit, etc. and haven’t really been able to determine how long it takes to get out of that “Unsatisfactory” purgatory or why some folks land in it. I’m also unsure if a deposit banking relationship helps get back in. Some can recon out of it while others have to wait until it runs its course. While others are never put into purgatory to begin with. I guess with everything profile matters. But it’s weird.
Thanks for giving us the DPs and alerting us to your experience. This type of scenario is just as important to know about as an approval post.
Chase uses the lable "Prior Unsatisfactory Relationship" for all sorts of reasons for closures of accounts. It could be from high balances, too many accounts opened, or charge offs. It always pays to recon when denied as the underwriter can see the specific reason.
I was shutdown by Chase in April, I was 4/24 at the time, I applied for the CSP got approved and then applied for the Freedom card and was declined. Apped for Discover IT, Capital One Venture and US Bank, all approved the same day as the CSP. They closed my accounts (CSPand FU)the next day, I called and asked them to reopen them and they said they would do a reconsideration after 7-10 days, they called back and opened them and gave actually gave me a 4,000 CLI on my Freedom Unlimited when it opened back up. The process was very scary and nerve wrecking. I wish you the best OP.
