I had opened a WaMu card right before they were acquired by Chase. After the 1 yr promo period, my interest rate was 9%. Chase left the card alone until the Credit Card act mess started and raised the interest rate to 16.24%. Well I use an application on my phone called Personal Assistant and it sent me a notification from Chase which I just KNEW had to be incorrect. It stated I had an interest rate decrease to 8.24%. I just knew something was wrong (and was thanking goodness this was a free app). Well low and behold I checked my account and Chase did lower my interest rate to 8.24%. No notice or anything like that. Just wanted to share my good news and see if this has happen to anyone else.
Wow! I wish the same would happen for me! I just check mine, still stuck at 24.24%. Mine also went up from 13.99 to 24.24 right before CARD Act.
If it weren't one of my oldest TLs I would close it in a heartbeat. Oh well, I PIF this card every month anyway so I don't really care.
Mine is still 13.xx

Well now I am really amazed. Went to make my online payment and noticed I more credit available than I should (about $200). Then I looked at my payment amount due and it showed $0.00. Looked at my existing transactions and Chase issued interests credits totaling a little over $200. My mom said dont get too excited and I will be honest that I am afraid to call and see what is going on. I have had companies reduced my interest rate previously, but never retroactively credit interest charges.
Congrats, PurpleHaze!
I've got to say that I'm astounded by this.
What have you got on them?!?
Congrats!! This is a shocker coming from Chase.

Still 12.24 for me and no auto CLIs either. Was told by CSR that I could PT to Slate MC even without my Freedom Visa having a $5k CL. Chase does confuse me, but this is wonderful news to say the least. Congrats!
I actually called Chase just yesterday to see about possibly getting a reduction in my interest rate. The lady on the phone told me that they could no longer initiate interest rate reductions, it was now all happening behind the scenes. She said that they would go in and review all the accounts slowing and see about issuing lower rates! So we could all be receiving lower rates at any given time... good in some ways but bad if you're trying to get an immediate lower rate...
Congrats though! That is totally awesome!

Sure, we could.
But color me doubtful. We could also all be sprouting wings and flying around the city at any given time. ![]()
