Hi guys
Got a quick question. Recently i got a snailmail offer for the AAdvantage Platinum Select card by Citi with a 65k airline points bonus if you spend 4000 dollars in 4 months.
I know 65k is a higher offer than the usual with this card but word on the street is, that the american airline miles have lost their value a little.
So. Is this a offer i shouldnt pass on or is it not worth the AA redemtion hassle?
You're right. I just tried to book a simple flight from SEA to LAX a month and a half out and there were no options really. Also, someone said that short haul flight are 7500 points,,? All i saw was 12500 pt flights

They've really tightened their belt with the sAAver awards too. Those 7500 flights sound enticing but availability is pretty limited.
I second the post regarding a better value on partner airlines, AA and Alaska Air are partners and usually have great availability for places that Alaska flies. I plan on using my bonus points to Hawaii! That is a good offer I only got 60k points.
AA has a better program then British Air at least lol.
To anyone one interested, here is a link to my recent post about getting 75k miles. http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/PSA-PSA-AA-Card-75k-bonus-miles/td-p/4997515

Just so we don't confuse the OP, that 75K offer is for the AA Executive card, not the AA Platinum. Big difference between the two.
The Doctor of Credit website reported yesterday that the 60.000+ bonus offers for Citi AAdvantage credit cards will likely end Thursday of this week.

Hmm, decisions decisions. Just hit the 24 month mark since my last personal AA card.
Just an FYI Tydawg - I believe there is a post over on flyertalk.com that says they are changing their partnership with Alaska. It's in the Alaska Airlines forum.
