Just noticed this offer in my Experian portal today and was like, "why wouldn't I?"
I haven't picked up a card since January, so I'll probably grab this next month assuming the offer is still there in mid DEC.
Applied via Credit Karma link. Pulled Experian. Denied "too many recent inquiries on your credit bureau report".
What are typical DP's required for this card as far as inquiries and new accounts? In the past 6 months I've had 3 inquiries. One was a new credit card, One denial of citi custom cash due to apping immediately after getting approved for another card, and the other was a car loan. So 3/6 inquiries and 2/6 new accounts.
if you see this on your CK you might stand a chance because they analyze your chances of getting approval

Unfortunately, this isn't really the case @creditfan. CK, like any other CMS, peddles all kinds of products without really any guarantees of approval. While it's possible that anyone with a very strong profile (all things considered) could get approved, seldom is CK a reliable or solid source for approvals. If you notice, it clearly states "suggested" not pre-approved as far as this particular offer goes. Just search around the forums for countless experiences on this.

The odds don't appear to stack up in your favor based on the information you've provided, unfortunately. Citi's algorithms will take into account lots of other factors besides recent inquiries and/or new accounts in the past 12 months.

@CreditCuriosity wrote:Title says it.. happened to be pulling updated reports today from CK and appears CK partnered with Citi to offer the $300 welcome bonus for 1k spend where before only offered in branch for the extra $100. Their normal site still shows $200. So if been holding off and since the holidays are around the corner, it might be an easy $300 for those that have thinking about card and push them over the edge.
Oh snap... as if this one wasn't tempting enough as it is!
I'm trying to hold-off until the first of the year to increase my chances of success, hopefully this offer will still be around then. <fingers crossed>
Aw, but remember ... "opportunity knocks but once"!
This offer is VERY tempting. I'm hesitant to go for it since I am 1/6 and 3/12 on EX inquiries and new accounts and I know that Citi can be inquiry sensitive.
Every once in a while I kick myself for getting my CustomCash via PC rather than new signup... but then I remember why I'm gardening.
Wish I had seen this yesterday before I applied! It was a spur the moment spree for me, so unfortunately I did not do the research and only got the $200 SUB. I'd heard that Citi was inquiry sensitive but I got lucky and they pulled EQ which only had one inquiry for me in the past 24 months, the rest of my reports are at like 6-7 inquiries lol. New accounts were at 3/12 and 9/24, but nothing in past 6 months so maybe that's a threshold?
