Yea I got smilarly baited by a 0 for 21 and then 12.99% after offer for a Citi DP. I figured I could use that as my "in" with Citi so I went for it and was approved (yay!) but only for a measly $700...
Granted my UTIL was a bit high (around 28%), so it's not too surprising, but still. At least a $1k+ limit would have been nice lol.
Damn, Omar and you have some good limits don't you?
The new Fidelity Visa card seems like a better choice for a 2% card.

Tell me how to get limits like yours!! School me in your wisdom. See, I want small amount of cards with large limits. How did you do it? Picture me at my desk like an attentive student right now lol. Are you older? Because I'm in my late 20s and I have a few cards all around $10k but nothing really crazy.
If you're headed to the garden anyway call and take another EQ HP for a CLI. Mine was approved at 6k and HP to 15k. I think that was what I requested too (stupidly) I should have asked for 25k.

I would agree that the Fidelity Visa Signature might be a better option for some people. I have both the Citi Double Cash and the Fidelity card and I like them both equally. The issue, however, is that the Fidelity card is going to be much more difficult for some to be approved for. You must be able to qualify for a minimum $5000 starting limit as well as the single APR offered of 14.24%. Citi will at least offer you a card if they don't believe you deserve the lowest APR and at least a $5000 starting limit. I won't even get into the trouble that Elan/U.S. bank give some applicants about information on their secondary credit bureaus. Additionally, the Fidelity card's rewards redemption threshold is twice that of the Double Cash's. This isn't a problem for me, but it may be for others.
The Fidelity card will undoubtedly come with a better SL than the Double Cash if you can qualify for it, however, Elan's underwriting is a bit more stringent than Citi's.
Very interesting thread on this card. They pulled Experian for me. At the time my score was 768 and I had six inquiries. I was approved for 4k and was happy with that because I had burned them in a Chapter 13 in 2008 so wasn't even sure I'd get in the door. I have tried, but no luck getting a soft pull for a cli so I will let it go and use what I have. I am thinking that will be all I get from them.
well that puts a damper on my citi DC app i was planning to do when my discover 2x 1st yr expires in june.

@Anonymous wrote:This card is known to start with low limits. Mine was approved last month at $2600, I requested an increase when the card came in and it bumped to $15,000. Cost a HP but made the card more usable. I have the same APR too.
They also started me at $2600.
But in the 15 months since then I haven't been able to get a CLI, so I'm still at $2600.
Same here. Started at $1200, six months later increased to $2400. Now I can't get any increases, stating too many new accounts... sucky
