Hello all. After months and months of waiting to apply for a citi prime card. on the 4th of july i think. i finally got my first citi pre approval. on their website.
In Total they offered me about 7 credit cards. From simplicitiy. all the way to Premier. My mistake. not Prestige But all of them have said 22.99 Apr after the promo period. which in the case of simplicitiy it is 21 months. but The Double Cash is 12 months.
So today i get home and i have a pre selected offer in the mail. which drops the Apr 2 points down to 20.9 percent after 12 months. only for the double cash. and i have the selected invitation number. not sure if i should go for it. or wait longer like imperfect said. any advice from members with this card. I saw on my report. im down to 2 inquiries in the last 6 months. but 8 for the year. and 16 in the last 2 years. so im not sure if im a good candidate anyway. since it is pre selected i would think my chances are good. but i don't want some 1k limit. thanks again everyone. i have about 3k of balances i would like to transfer to a citi card. but im not in a rush.

Are you sure the Prestige said 22.99%? It's a set 15.24%

Ok. this offer is good until September 15th. no rush.
Wait it out according to your original plan I know you want to apply, but you will get better apr offers and CL's if you wait another month or two ![]()
BTW congrats on Super Contributor
.. New today?

It's based off your score and age of accounts. My active CU card turned two years, and my scores fluctuate between 735 and 746. I don't use Amex backdating. When the card turned two years, my offers changed to 14.99.

Really. this could be an issue for lower apr then. As my oldest account is 20 months old. hehehe. still four months until 2 years. and my AAoA is only 11 months. based on the number of accounts i have. so maybe i give it another 2 months. then jump all over it. or see if any new mailers will come in.as this is the first mailer. if not . i just want to get in the door with them. and in a couple of years apply for better rates. But i keep looking at that simplicity. even over the doulbe cash. That 21 months is a hard cookie to beat. 0% on BT and Purchases. The Double cash mailer looks good. But it is only 12 months. my Discover 0 percent will expire in october. so i really need another 0 percent card. I have the freedom. but it is only good until june 2016. and i have a low limit. 2k. so it will not do. i need something with 5k on to transfer the balance on my tiny cards. Thanks again. imperfectfuture for you help and all as well. its a conundrum to say the least. as ive been waiting to get in with citi. honestly i thought i would not get offers until next year sometime. as im barely over 700s. but my report became crystal clean a month ago. not a single negative. But my age of accounts is dragging me down.

Great advice here from Irish.
Now, one potential outcome which could possibly happen with Citi, there may be a tweak in some of the APR terms (perhaps favorably by +/- 4%) within the next couple months but based on your new accounts and recent inquiries, you may still not get a high SL (if approved). Even if you decide to reconsider or request a CLI once you get the card, it may not be much (again this is based on your most recent activities and taking the removal of the negatvies from your CRs but anything is possible).
Have your balances or tax obligations recently increased? I was just curious by the low APR cards you've been shopping for recently.
Did your NASA CC application get approved? What happened with your Macy's AMEX upgrade btw?
